FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Browse this FAQ list to find answers to common questions about working at Elitch Gardens. We’ve tried to include everything, but if you still have unknowns as you’re getting acquainted, don’t hesitate to get in touch. Everyone here is eager to help out, so just send us a note or give us a call.

HOW DO I CHECK MY WORK SCHEDULE?

You can check your work schedule through Optim8. There is also a Optim8 app that makes it quick and easy to view your schedule on your phone. 

To login to Optim8, click employee portal. The company ID is 'elitchgardens'. Your username will be your employee badge number, and your password will be your birthday typed in like this "MM/DD/YYYY' including the slashes!

HOW CAN I REQUEST TIME-OFF?

All time-off requests should be submitted in Optim8. Once logged in, select 'time-off request' and click 'new request.' You will be able to request a full day or partial day off. Once your request is submitted your department supervisors/managers will review and either accept or deny your request. Do not assume your request will be granted just because you submit it. All requests should be submitted at least 2 weeks in advance.

WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE IT TO MY SHIFT?

If you will be absent or late for your shift, please call in to our attendance line at 303-595-0880 extension 745 or complete the online attendance form that can be found in the forms section of this website. Please note: a call or text directly to your supervisor by itself is not sufficient notice of your absence. Please keep in mind you will be issued attendance points for any absences or late starts.

WHAT IF I WAS EXPOSED TO COVID-19?

Please stay home! We recommend anyone who believes they may have been exposed get tested. You will not be assigned attendance points for COVID-related absences. 

If you believe you may have been exposed or you are confirmed to have Coronavirus, you will need to remain out of work for a period of at least 10 days and until your symptoms have improved. Please refer to the paid sick leave policy for more information on how you may be eligible for pay for time off of work. 

I LOST MY BADGE/NAMETAG! WHAT CAN I DO?

No worries as you are able to purchase another! Name tags are $5 and badges are $15. 

**Please note: You will not be able to clock in for your shift without both of these items. You may have these costs deducted from your paycheck if you do not wish to pay for them upfront. See a Human Resources Team Member for more information. 

HOW DO I GET PAID?

We strongly recommend setting direct deposit so you can receive your pay directly in your bank account each payday without having to come into work to get your paycheck. Simply login to your Paycom account and click on payroll, then direct deposit. Enter your bank information and you are good to go!

If you prefer to receive a paper check, they will be available for pickup in Human Resources starting at 9:00am on paydays, which will be every other Friday. You will need to present a photo ID to collect your check. If your paycheck is not collected within 2 weeks we will mail it to the address you input into Paycom. 

HOW DO I GET MY COMPLIMENTARY TICKETS?

Complimentary tickets will be available to pick up on the first payday of the month June through October. Each employee will be given two complimentary tickets which will be tied to their badge number. Only employees who have worked the previous month will be eligible to receive tickets for the current month. For example, if you started working in June you will be eligible for complimentary tickets in July.

You MAY NOT sell these tickets. If you are found to be selling complimentary tickets this could lead to your termination of employment and legal action. 

HOW DO I ACCESS PAYCOM?

You can access Paycom by clicking here or by downloading the app. Your login information was provided to you during orientation. If you are having trouble accessing your account, please email us. 

I HAVE FRIENDS WHO WOULD LOVE WORKING HERE! HOW CAN I REFER THEM?

We love referrals! Please have them complete a job application on the Elitch Gardens website. If they are hired, you can complete a referral form, found in the forms section of this website, and get credit! You can both earn $100! Restrictions do apply. Please view the employee referral form for additional information.

I WANT TO SWITCH DEPARTMENTS. HOW DO I DO THAT?

Switching departments mid-season is not encouraged, but if you would like to do so please talk with your department manager. If they approve of you transferring you would then want to speak with the manager of the department you are wishing to transfer to. If everyone approves, management will forward paperwork to HR to make it official.

WHAT PERKS DO I HAVE AS AN EMPLOYEE?

Elitch Gardens employees have a variety of exclusive perks! They include:

  • Season Pass

    • Just use your employee ID badge to get into the park free on your days off!​

  • Complimentary Tickets​

    • You may receive two free tickets a month to give to friends and family. These will be available on the first payday of the month June through October as long as you worked the prior month. THESE CANNOT BE SOLD!​

  • Retail Discounts​

    • 25% off at retail locations throughout the park. *Excluding Meow Wolf​

  • Employee Parties​

    • Exclusive events throughout the season for employees only! Keep on eye out on the events calendar as well as social media for dates.​

  • PRIDE Cards​

    • Earn a PRIDE card from your supervisor by exhibiting PRIDE standards! These may be turned in at Human Resources for prizes including restaurant gift cards, movie tickets, and tickets to local attractions. Prizes change throughout the season.​
